A cool addition to the VBL experience will be the addition of the "VBL Scouting Service". What this service provides is another option besides your team scouting director to offer a rating system based solely on CAREER STATS. No player ratings or star ratings will be factored into the equation. Someone your scout has as a future 5 star may not be rated high on the VBLSS list if his stats have been subpar. Again this offers more depth to your scouting adventures.
The service is run by former baseball greats Ken Griffey Jr as the Hitting Scout, Nolan Ryan as the Pitching Scout, and Cal Ripkin Jr as the Fielding Scout.
A section on the leagues main page will be dedicated to this service that will provide ratings on draft eligible players as well as future stars. Player profile articles will be provided by the scouts as well as more cool features.

Quickly, Who's the best starting pitcher in VBL6? If you didn't say Scott Hill then a) you're fairly new to VBL6 or b)....well, I'm not sure why else you wouldn't say Scott Hill. Don't take my word for it though, lets look at the stats.

| Scott Hill |
Name: Scott "The Franchise" Hill
Team: Hendersonville Hitmen
Age: 27
Pos: SP
Throws: Left
2012 Salary: $11.4M
Awards: 3x Boardman Award (Cy Young) Winner
Entering the 2012 Season Scott Hill holds 23 VBL6 pitching records, 11 single season records including wins (24), ERA (1.51), K/9 (10.38), WHIP (0.79) and 12 career records, including wins (95), ERA (1.82), WHIP (0.88) and VORP (443.4).
Hill has won the Boardman Award (Cy Young) 3x in 5 years in and the last 2 in the Marvin League. He has NEVER loss more than 5 games in a season. His 95-18 win/loss record is insane!!! His 18 career losses are the same as All-Star SP Art Ellis' 2009 total and 5 less than newly acquired Hitmen SP Mal Windham's 23 losses in 2011
.
Hill has 4 straight season's of an ERA under 2.00 which are the 4 lowest ERA's in VBL6 history. He also has 4 straight seasons of a WHIP under 1.00 and the 3 lowest in VBL6's history. His career opponent batting avg is below the Mendoza line at .198. Hill's career 443.4 VORP is 70 pts better than the next guy and he had 3 of the 4 best single season VORPs.
His .841 winning % is far and away the best with Ethan Pickup's .698% 2nd among SP. He had NEVER allowed more than 8 HR in a season. He has 5 straight 204+ innings pitched seasons. 4 Straight seasons with 239+ strikeouts and his 1,179 K's are only 2 behind Jean-Thomas Francoeur for the All-Time lead.
The scary apart for the league is Scott Hill just turned 27 a few months ago and is just now hitting his prime. He is currently locked up as a Hitmen for the next two years. Rumor is that Hays has no expectations of letting Hill ever hit Free Agency.

VBL6 Magazine: Welcome Aaron, thanks for all your time here today.
Aaron Blank: No problem, glad to be here.
VBL6 Magazine: As you know, I don't pull punches; so I'm getting straight to the point. Last year you won your division for a second title in a row largely in part thanks to Luke Pittman. While I haven't been able to contact Pittman's agents, and rumor has it he's not to please all the other stars are getting big time contracts and he's still in arbitration with you team. Any truth to the rumors Pittman is unhappy, or Baffin just doesn't have the funds to keep the best position player in the game?
Aaron Blank: Well your attempts to contact his agent have been about as successful as ours. Pittman's agent has been impossible to get ahold of, I'm starting to think a hit may have been put out for him by an opponent whose name I am not willing to mention. But in all seriousness we plan on resigning Pittman before the all-star break at least, last year was a break-out year for him whereas his previous years were, to be blunt, flops. We want to make sure our #1 draft pick in the inaugural draft is for real and not just a flash in the pan.
VBL6 Magazine: But you gave money to Allan Landry... Do you prefer Landry to Pittman?
Aaron Blank: Landry and Pittman are two VERY different players, Landry will be solid in our rotation, his numbers have been consistent the past few years, whereas like I stated earlier Pittman has had one good year so far. Although Pittman is young, we are eager to see what he can do, and if he can repeat his performance from last year, he will definitely be a Beaver for a very long time.
VBL6 Magazine: Ok fair enough. Now Aaron, for all those who aren't as familiar with VBL6 as the rest of us. Where exactly is Baffin Island located, and what made you want to move the team their?

VBL6 Magazine: Ok fair enough. Now Aaron, for all those who aren't as familiar with VBL6 as the rest of us. Where exactly is Baffin Island located, and what made you want to move the team their?
Aaron Blank: Haha, I figured this question might arise some day. Originally it was going to be a battle of the north between Chris McQuid, former owner of the Alaska, now El Paso, franchise and myself for superiority in the Arctic. But Mr. McQuid conceded after seeing I was demolishing his Whale Tails. Baffin Island is the largest Canadian island located in the territory of Nunavut. It is directly north of Quebec, and the team plays out of the capital Iqaluit, which is in the southeast corner on Frobisher Bay. I decided to move the team there, not only for home field advantage but I also received many gifts from the Native habitants of the Island itself. I originally was going to have a team based out of eastern Ontario somewhere, until Nunavut premier Eva Aariak offered my organization free land and labour to build my stadium there, as long as we would stay for a minimum of 10 years. For me, it was a no-brainer, free land to build however big stadium I want?? Man, I was living the dream. Now some might say it's too cold to play baseball in 14 degree Farenheit weather. Just wear warmer clothes.
VBL6 Magazine: Awesome. With the championship Frenzy moving from Long Beach to Niagara Falls, what type of movement do you see within your fan base towards the championship Frenzy
Aaron Blank: Well with another Canadian team in my divison now, and ontop of that, a championship winning team at that, I don't see too much fan base lost. We are so isolated on the island itslef that noone will travel to "toon town" to watch just one game. We might lose a few fans on the TV set to the Frenzy, but I'm not too worried about it.
VBL6 Magazine: Given your the state of your division with Edison and New York improving so vastly, and with the Frenzy hoisting the championship last year for the ML, I'm curious at your thoughts in which Baffin Island has a chance as repeating as division champions. The road is tougher this year for sure.
Aaron Blank: The road is definitely tougher this year, especially since I traded our ace Jimmy Sanders this past off-season. Edison and New York have made splashes in FA this year but I don't think they have enough to overtake the Frenzy for the WC or Baffin for the title. As long as our core group of guys can come through. The rotation is still solid as ever with Allan Landry leading the charge with Louis Genest and Lloyd MacBride behind him. Although we will have numerous rookies with their first full year in a Beaver uniform in Danny Kelly, Alvin King, Marcos Mesa and depending how they do in ST either Jose Rosa or recently acquired Charlie Murdock at 1B. We hope these guys, along with Pittman and Paquette, can step it up for the big club, and if they can, we can win another division title for sure.
VBL6 Magazine: Agreed. Now, with that being said - I'm wondering if you could give us your take on how the ML is going to break out; and if not Baffin Island, who has a shot to make it to the championship round.
Aaron Blank: Wow, this is definitely going to be a tough one. Out of the Arthur I can see it being a tough race between myself and the Frenzy, I give Edison one more year before they are competitve enough. The Zaphod is much tougher to try and determine. With all the moves Mental Mike has made this off-season acquiring genuine talent along with ManLove Mike in LA making some huge FA signings and trading for Mr. Cooper Newell, it is going to be a two-team race for sure. I'd have to go with my gut here and say Sacramento will take this division in a one-game playoff over LA. Although look for El Paso to be a diamond in the rough. In the Ford division, as much as everyone hate the Hitmen, they are the team to beat, I say they take home their third straight division title in ease. But look out after this year as the Hitmen may not be able to afford all their talent.
VBL6 Magazine: We are going to have a little word association, just like last magazine Aaron. Here we go. CL Edguardo Martinez, 3B David Paquette, and SP Louis Genest.
Aaron Blank: Martinez - experiment, Paquette - greedy prick, Genest - bargain
VBL6 Magazine: Is their anything else you'd like to add here Aaron?
Aaron Blank: I would just like to add it was a pleasure to do this interview and hopefully I answered some questions as to the mysteriousness of my Baffin Island Beavers. And also the ML is by far the best league...ever. O and one more thing, this season is going to be LEGEN...wait for it....wait for it...DARY

VBL6 Magazine: Aaron, thanks for your time so much. Until next time folks.
I have been asked to take on the daunting task of trying to figure out which team will dominate the hill this year, that being said it was no easy feat. The league has tons of pitching talent, although it does not seem to be spread out evenly.
1. LA Bruins/Hville Hitmen - I lost sleep over trying to decide who had the better staff. Hendersonville enters the year with the most valuable player in the VBL with Scott Hill. Having a guy like hill can put anyone's rotation into contention. On the other hand Los Angeles spend the offseason acquiring a plethora of talent. The trades for Ethen Pickup and the acquisition of Ricky Bolden gives LA the best 1, 2 combination in the league.
3. Kansas City: Although he has not been as dominant as Hill, Francoeur is the "Scott Hill" of the Trillion League. His stuff and movement are unparalleled in the TL. Along with Francoeur, the Cougars also have a couple great hurlers in Garrett and Vasquez. Kansas City should be a force to be reckoned with in the TL!
4.Sacramento: The Mentalists may be the most hated team in the VBL, but their pitching staff is no joke, top to bottom it is a great rotation. With anchors in the rotation such as Sanders, and Kraus the Mentalists should make a viable run for the Zaphod Title.
5. Orlando: Orlando is Hendersonvilles only competition in the Ford Division. Deleon, Hinton, and Lewis pack a nice punch, and they have some good guys to round out the bottom of the lineup. Overall all solid pitchers, but nobody that just wows you.

Every year teams from coast to coast, gear up for Spring Training where their prospects get a chance to shine, guys coming back from injury rehab, guys get a last chance at making the big league club and stars get a little work in before the marathon begins.
Every team makes moves during the off-season in order to put themselves in a better position to go toe to toe, and have a shot at the end of the year to hoist the VBL6 Championship above their heads.
Now, is that time.
Spring Training, has ended.
The games, now count.
This volume, we take a look at the entire league in the feature article; which is a 2012 VBL6 Season Preview.
* Indicates Division winne
** Indicates Wild Card winners.
* Baffin Island Beavers – The Beavers lost tons of talent to free agency, but have filled up the holes nicely, and re-signed some of the usual suspects. The big return will be starter, Genest as he suits up likely in the number one role, with his playoff stats shimmering, oh so, beautifully up in Canada. The Beavers will be in a photo finish, that lands the coin on the side of the Beavers.
Boston Rebels – Rosa, check. Daniel, check. Still have Lara, check. The Rebels made tons of splashes in the off-season and are primed to make a run at the division title. The gappy Rosa, will potentially lead off and cause all sorts of havok on the base paths, while Daniel is one of the sneaky-good to great off-season signings during the entire free agent period. Boston stays in the race, but falls off at the end. Adding a big piece at the deadline could propel them into the playoffs, though. Look for them to be huge players.
** Niagara Falls Frenzy – The Frenzy grabbed Harper, and announced him as the face of the franchise at the new conference after moving from the city, that just provided them a place to hoist their championship banner. The team lost Cortez, but has enough to make a deep run if given the chances. They’ll need a bit of luck like last year as many teams have improved themselves this year within their division; and while they play in the best division in the league, it’s really a toss up between them and Baffin. One game will separate the two, and the coin landed on heads.
Quebec Les Capitales – In a division with four teams who have a shot at taking it, the Capitales are putting themselves in a good position to play spoiler and make a good run at the thing in two seaons. After getting ridding themselves of the players who weren’t going to be with the team for the long-run, the Capitales find themselves ready to move forward and compete in the near future. Keep an eye on SS William Davis who the team got on a great contract in free agency. OF Peterson could also be on the move at the deadline, but he’s the only big bat on the squad so it may be hard to do.
New York Knights – Sagar, refused to waive his no-trade clause to play in Orlando last year, and has decided to go up and play on the big stage. Sagar will roam the outfield next to the great young outfielder Leon Foster, coupled with a deeper rotation and New York could be making some noise in the Arthur division. It’ll be interesting to see though, if Sagar is enough to get them in the discussion with the Beavers and Frenzy.
El Paso Diablos – Formerly Alaska, Yoko and crew packed up and headed to Texas. Losing star pitchers to Sacramento didn’t help, and while Alaska has one of the better offenses in the league, the team will be hard-pressed to keep up with their pitching cowarts within the division, one would think.
Los Angeles Bruins – The Bruins landed two of the bigger prizes in the off-season in OF Cooper Newell, and SP Ricky Bolden. The Bruins also dealt for 2B Augusto Pena and Declan Parsons from San Francisco. The Bruins should be a much improved team if they can stay on the field.
Maui Tropics – Said goodbye to team favorite Ethan Pickup, nabbing the ever stable Marcos Borges, and grabbing studly MR Da-Hun Mae as well. The Tropics are returning with most of the 2011 cast, hoping to stay healthy and make a run at the playoffs. Maui has a slew of great players that could be available at the deadline, if they somehow fall out of the deadline.
* Sacramento Mentalists – The team should win close if not more than 100 games, and that’s saying a lot given the teams lackluster first two seasons. It’ll be interesting to see how Sacramento holds up into the playoff race this season. The team has a new rotation, and big bats at the corners in the outfield. This team should be good.
San Francisco Liberals – Out with the old, and in with the new. Carl Crow is the most notable name coming in, with starting pitchers Bamber and Parsons going out. The team also sent pricey Augusto Pena down the coast, and signed SP MacOran and 1B Booth to fill in during the interim. Playoffs would seem like a stretch this year, the team loaded up on prospects in all deals.
* Hendersonville Hitmen – Hill/Ellis/Chong/Bamber. The best four man rotation in baseball (does it matter who their fifth starter even is) the Hitmmen should win another 100+ games this season and have the best record in the league for the third year in a row. Adding Copriviza who would hit 3 or 4 for most teams, but hits 2 for them really shows the teams depth and overall talent. MVP Green resigned, though, Ellis hasn't – and one has to wonder if he'd really leave Hendersonville? Prowse should be back to being Prowse, and Burkholder is one of the best offensive players in the league. Hitmen should win the series if their bats don't go cold.
Jacksonville Jackhammers – The team started their off-season in dealing for gold glove winner Pablo Aguilar, while sending CL Evan Brown to Los Angeles. The team then proceeded to send Sacramento money to acquire the best closer in the game, the Colch. Two great moves by Jacksonville, who sent out a tweet saying their owner tied their hands on the Bolden. The team will be improved, with emphasis entering the playoff chase full time starting in the 2013 season. Jacksonville may not win the division, but their going to be much improved, and a tough out.
Orlando Carlissan – While Orlando is going for a spot in the playoffs this year, the team lost GM James Patterson, and has Mel Fields who skills seem to be on the decline. German Rivas however, is listed as OSA’s number one non-pitcher in the league and that’s something to build around. The 25-year old crushed it last year, and with Hinson and Co. riding his coattails the Carlissan have a legitament shot at the playoffs with the two Arthur/Zaphod divisions being so deep and likely to beat up on one another all year.
Somerton Spartans – Not sure what to make of the Spartans who haven’t made a move since November, and lost franchise players CF Perkins and 3B Rosa – they are far from the rest of the league when totaling up talent. Somerton has a lot of work to do before sniffing the playoffs.
Greeneville 84’s – A move from Springedale, keeps Springdale on our tongue in a division where their clearly one of the better teams. Crowder was the team's off-season prize, and with Chaney, Robbins, and Northeast the teams bullpen has been rebuilt. The league's best third basemen, Woody Garner finds himself in a position where he must carry the team as they were unable to score any big bats during the off-season. Resigning Trejo will help, but the team needs to add another big bat or top flight starter if they want to over-take Madison.
Jersey Shore D-Bags – Jersey Shore bitch! Had to do it, no way around it. With the kids at the shore becoming more and more established, ace Alex Torrez recovering from an arm injury, a deal that sent catcher Mario Ramirez and Jose Brito eastward, and Mason Bonniface; still being Mason Bonniface – Jersey has set themselves up for a run at the division title in 2012.
* Madison Bombers - The Bombers are primed and ready to make the post-season for the third year in a row, and we don't see any reason they shouldn't. As much as Jersey Shore and Greenville improved their rosters, Madison is still clearly the top dog in the division. Garza and Cy Young canidate Clemente resigned, while adding Hancock from San Francisco helps, grabbing Oklahoma's starting 3B Gerben Illidge will be the bigger signings as it helps Madison, and hurts Oklahoma.
Pittsburgh Pirates – I don't know what to make out of the Pirates off-season aside from the signing of outfielder Cade Delaney. Delaney's a certifiable young stud who will help the Pirates sell tickets in the short term, but in the long term the team still has issues to address. While many top-teams sought after 3B Evan Keeler for a short term, low money deal Pittsburgh gave him 12M a year to roam 3B for the team (12M T.O. In year two) and we figure he'll more than likely be dealt at the deadline when Pittsburgh has fallen out of it. All in all, the team has some kids playing the way through the system but It'll be a while before the Pirates can challenge the top three in the Dent.
Whitewater Warhawks – Whitewater, is GM-less and is a wreck. While the team still has SS Michael Young and RF Carlos Valle, not to mention star SP Julian Paradis, VBL6 the Magazine wonders if the league office shouldn't try and move Paradis (who is 36, and could help a contender) to get a new GM coming in some prospects. A posting if you would. Whitewater will be lucky to win 65 games this year.
Fullerton Foghorns – Catcher, Jaime “Gunner” Torres has to carry the Foghorns this season as they are GM-less and are set for another losing season and top draft pick Fullerton has no star, and faces a very long season.
New Westminster Road Reckers – Theirs a new GM in town here as well, and the team losing it's star player Ricky Bolden to Los Angeles is going to kill them. Bolden was their only box office draw, and the team is more than likely in full rebuild mode. The additions of Ray Hall from the champion Frenzy, and Fred Jones ($5M per, 2.46ERA last season in Oklahoma) gives them their ace. In addition, they resigned the core of their team, and gave seven guys contracts in the off-season. New Westminster is young, and will only get better.
* Pocatello Boccabellas – Tons of change has came about from Pocatello; as the team dealt superstar MVP, Cooper Newell for stud starter, Roberto Lopez out of LA. Lopez is 23, with nasty potential and should be the clubs ace for years to come. Rivera will fill in for Newell adequately, and they got some great kids playing their way onto the big league club on the farm. In the weakest division n the entire league will help Pocatello this season as the team continues to retool; -- but expect for them to make the playoffs for the third straight season, winning their division.
Reno Cards – Reno's made a few deals after coming in late, and are looking to compete modestly. Reno grabbed OF Jason Rich in hopes he can return them a first round pick, but given the cautious spending on guys playing above their ceiling, a smaller deal to return to Reno would benefit them more, and would ensure they got something for their investment. Dan Best has been disappointing so far, but has upside and if his age doesn't hold him back he could reach it. While the division is Pocatello's to lose, Reno is right their with everyone else as a team lying in wait.
Vista Panthers – Vista find themselves with the rest of the division right behind Pocatello. With Rosales, Anderson, Morin, and newly signed Perkins the team will compete and their pitching has seemingly improved a little; - but if Vista is to make a deep run into the playoffs they are going to need to find another arm or two at the deadline. Injuries could catapult them into the race for the division if anyone slips up. Don't sleep on Vista.
Haddonfield Hackers – Haddonfield got the steal of free agency getting Phillips to agree to a one-year deal to leave division rival Oklahoma. Puckett wasn't happy rumors said, but the Hackers have added Archibequi as well and that should round out the rotation. A Mendoza/Phillips/Archibequi could be the best top three in the division and Haddonfield may very well surprise some people this year if they can aquire another bat or two, and some bullpen help at the deadline.
** Kansas City Cougars – The Cougars grabbed, “If you don’t check me, I’ll steal your base, and yours, and yours” in Cortez, grabbing possibly the games best leadoff hitter outside of Burkholder. The pitching will be their with Franceour and the team has made slight upgrades to the depth of the big league club. We’re predicting them to finish slightly behind the Droogies again, but they can easily win their division if Franceour has another great season.
* Oklahoma Droogies – After taking a slew of players in the Rule V draft, Oklahoma found themselves looking to wheel and deal smaller pieces from the outfield and relief corps. Priority number one was resigning 2B Buckner, and the team got it done on a very fair contract. Despite playing in the same division as the reigning TL champs, the Droogies are set to play deep into October again, as long as their young pitching holds up.
Regina River Sharks – The newly owned Sharks, find themselves without their best player in starter Earl Harper, who left for the champions in free agency and are facing a very tough division with Oklahoma and Kansas City predicted to make the playoffs. The Sharks new GM should keep in mind, this is year one and while Oklahoma is stocked with prospects, Kansas City isn't and their time could be sooner rather than later. 36 year old 1B, Owens could be on the move at the deadline and could net them a prospect or two in return. It'll be interesting to see which direction Regina goes.
